Postepay

Postepay Cards are electronic prepaid cards which are specifically designed to help Italian online shoppers to securely shop and pay online. They are co-branded with Visa or MasterCard.

Postepay Cards are prepaid cards issued by Poste Italiano and it does not need to be attached to a bank account. It can be used up to a sum of 2,500 euro per year with a limit of 999 euro per single transaction. PostePay prepaid cards can be real plastic cards or virtually issued (e-Postepay prepaid card). Postepay cards are only available to Italian consumers. Users are able to reload the card at an post office, Postamat ATMs, the Poste Italiane website, or directly via mobile. Postepay cards are most often co-branded with MasterCard, Visa or Visa Electron and allow for international (internet) purchases. These Postepay payments are then processed as MasterCard or Visa card payments and the applicable merchants commission for (prepaid) credit cards will apply.
